FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (WFRV) – A popular local restaurant in central Wisconsin is believed to have been destroyed by an out-of-control kitchen fire.
According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a report of a kitchen fire at Family Affair Restaurant in Friendship Village around 4:15 p.m. Sunday.
After arriving on scene, officers reported visible flames coming from the building, and multiple fire departments were called. State Route 13 was closed while the emergency unfolded, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire after an undisclosed amount of time.
No injuries were reported, and the restaurant appears to be a total loss. The fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
Several local residents mourned the loss of the building on social media, with one saying: Hopefully it will be rebuilt. They were being renovated and had some nice renovations going on. ”
Family Affair Restaurant posted on Facebook thanking the community and first responders for all their efforts.
A restaurant official said, “Thank you for coming and supporting us under these unexpected circumstances.'' “Thank you for everything.”
There's no word on what will become of Family Affair Restaurant, but the community hopes it will be rebuilt. No additional details were provided.
