Guests can enjoy five of the six featured kitchens being completely renovated, some even renovated this winter.
“They are all unique and beautiful, and visitors will find something different in each one,” said Teresa Hartley of WASSO.
Stops include:
–515 Tuttle Road Highlights throughout this new home include a U-shaped design with granite countertops, kitchen island, brass accents in the lighting, and antique style.
–2127 N. Fountain St. Removing the fireplace opened up the kitchen and installed new modern cabinetry, a large island, screwdriver, and new lighting in the kitchen and dining room.
–1839 N. Fountain St. Recent renovations included a complete renovation to increase functionality, doubling storage capacity and adding hickory hardwood floors.
–2084 Dr. Northridge The owners built and installed new kitchen cabinets, countertops, lighting, and flooring, more than doubling the space during the renovation.
–4819 Springfield – Xenia Road This kitchen was redone to make the rest of the home simpler and more functional, including adding a large island and making it open to the main living area, dining room, and back porch. Ta.
–429 W. Possum Road The goal of this renovation was to create an open floor plan centered around a gas stove, with soft-close cabinetry, flooring, and appliances.
Although the kitchen is the main focus, visitors can also see how the kitchen fits into the family's overall home plan.
Tour tickets are $15 each in advance and are available at the Symphony Orchestra Office, Schneider's Florist, The Giving Tree Salon and Spa, and Firefly Boutique. Tickets can be purchased at each stop on the day of the tour for $20 each.
Visitors enjoy a Sunday afternoon outing while supporting the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's various events.
“This is a really good fundraiser for our program,” Hartley said.
This is one of three seasonal fundraising events sponsored by WASSO, including a summer garden tour and a vacation home tour in December.
