EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A 52-year-old Evansville woman who initially claimed to be the victim is now in jail, according to police.
Her arrest Domestic violence cases It happened earlier this week on Emma Drive in Vanderburgh County.
According to the sheriff's office, the woman, Tamatha Lunt, left the home after telling authorities that Kenneth Myers had beaten and confined her.
After police arrived, a standoff reportedly occurred outside the home, with no one opening the door.
Police later discovered Myers had left the home before they arrived.
Authorities eventually located and questioned Myers, who denied assaulting or confining Lunt and claimed he had attacked her with a knife.
Myers reportedly told detectives he became upset after Lunt searched his phone.
Surveillance footage from inside the home did not show Myers assaulting the victim, but it did show Lunt moving freely around the house, police said.
Police said the video also showed Lunt threatening to kill Myers and chasing him with a large kitchen knife.
Myers told police that Lunt stabbed him in the thigh and cut his thumb, and his injuries reportedly matched his description of the incident.
Tamatha Rene Lunt is being held on $10,000 bail and is facing charges of domestic violence with a deadly weapon and criminal intimidation.
