During Shrimp Fest, the streets of downtown Fernandina are filled with crowds, traffic, and sweltering summer heat. But for those looking for something delicious to escape the frenzy of the festival, Arhan Thai Kitchen emerges as a respite. With a long-standing reputation and great reviews, this restaurant guarantees a delicious experience.
Ahan Thai Kitchen has long been a staple and has quietly developed a loyal following. This unassuming establishment has an impressive rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars with an impressive 508 reviews on Google. impressive!
As we walked through the doors of Ahan Thai Kitchen, we were greeted by a clean and well-maintained dining room. The interior has attractive wooden partitions, creating a feeling of intimacy and warmth. The seats may be a bit small, but the overall atmosphere is very comfortable.
Ahantay's menu is a treasure trove of deliciousness. From soups and curries to noodle dishes and salads, the options seem endless. What really impressed me was the inclusion of a dedicated vegan menu, demonstrating the restaurant's commitment to catering to diverse dietary preferences.
First, I decided to try the recommended chicken curry puff. The fried puff pastry puffs, stuffed with a flavorful blend of chicken, curry powder, onions and potatoes, proved to be an absolute home run. The crunchy exterior creates bursts of flavor that are expertly balanced and absolutely delicious. The accompanying cucumber salad had a refreshing tartness that contrasted perfectly with the richness of the puff.
No Thai meal is complete without a refreshing drink. The Thai iced tea also did not disappoint. This sweet and creamy concoction with its iconic orange hue was a real treat. It was so indulgent that it could have easily been eaten as a dessert.
For the main course, I couldn't resist the charm of the black pepper stir fry. Served with jasmine rice, peppers, onions, and scallions, this entree allowed you to choose your protein of choice. I chose beef and was met with a flavor bomb that sent tingles through my taste buds. Note: I ordered the medium spicy option and it was spicy. It wasn't bad at all and made for a memorable dish, but be careful if you don't have a tolerance for spice.
Despite its extensive menu, Ahan Thai has managed to maintain a remarkable level of consistency in the quality of its food. From appetizers to main courses, each dish I sampled had great attention to detail, providing a truly satisfying dining experience.
Additionally, the attentive service I received added to the enjoyment of my entire visit. The staff was friendly and prompt, which made the whole experience more memorable.
Whether you're a local or a tourist looking for reliable Thai favorites, Ahan Thai Kitchen is a place you don't want to miss. With consistently excellent food, a warm atmosphere and attentive service, the restaurant offers a wide range of options. Even when the Shrimp Fest crowds fade, there's always something delicious to eat at Arhan Thai Kitchen.
