hell's kitchen, The new musical, based on Alicia Keys' R&B hits, opens on Broadway at the Shubert Theater on March 28th. Directed by Michael Greif, it opens on April 20th.
The musical stars Marea Joy Moon as Ali, Tony Award nominee Shoshana Bean as Jersey, Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon as Davis, Chris Lee as Knack, and Kesia Lewis as Miss. She will play the role of Liza Jane. The entire principal cast will reprise their performances from the Public Theater's world premiere production, which opened in fall 2023.
The cast also includes Chad Carstarphen as Ray, Vanessa Ferguson (NBC). the voice) as Tiny, Q as Jakeim Hart, Jessica as Jackie Leung, Millie as Niceli Vega, Riku as Lamont Walker II, and Crystal as Rema Webb. Ensemble members are Reid Clark, Chloe Davis, Nico DeJesus, Timothy L. Edwards, David Guzman, Rachelle Manalo, Sarah Parker, and Niki Sardes, with swing and understudy by Desmond Sean Ellington, Badia Farha, Gianna Harris, and Takia “Tiki”.Hopson, Jade Millan, Onyx Noel, Susan Oliveras, Aaron Nicholas Patterson, William Roberson, Donna Vivino, Oscar Whitney Jr.
“My mom grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and she's the quintessential New York story,” Keys said during a moderated conversation with members of the creative team. “So much of my childhood was based on observing and experiencing her in this space. In the theater. In this creative world. That's why I wanted to present this story as a musical in the theater. I think that's why it felt so right.”
Inspired by the title's upbringing near New York City, hell's kitchen Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Christopher Diaz, music supervision by Emmy and Grammy winner Adam Blackstone, music consulting by two-time Tony and Emmy winner Tom Kitt, and Tony Award nominee Camille. It features choreography by A. Brown.
The production's creative team includes set design by Robert Brill, costume design by Dede Ayte, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Peter Nigrini, and hair and wigs by Mia Neal. Also includes designs.
