Alicia Keys may soon add another honor to her extensive catalog: Tony Award winner. keys musical, hell's kitchen It received a whopping 13 nominations.
Ever the supportive husband, Swizz Beatz took a break from the booth to work as a videographer and capture the special moments via his wife's Instagram. Keyes has a smile on her face and seems overjoyed to hear the news.
“Oh my gosh, I just found out that Hell's Kitchen was nominated for 13 Tony Awards!” she exclaimed in the video. Keys enjoyed spending time with her family as she hugged her sons Egypt and Genesis, whom she shares with girlfriend Swizz.

Loosely based on Keyes' life, this jukebox musical tells the coming-of-age story of a 17-year-old girl and Ali from Hell's Kitchen. This young teenager struggles with her absent father, self-confidence, and misguided relationships with older men. But she finds solace in her music.
Playwright Christopher Diaz helped write the screenplay, and Keys provided the music and lyrics. The musical opened on Broadway for the first time last week. The singer hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to share the good news with her fans. I am grateful and in awe of this amazing show. She doesn't usually cry, but last night she almost cried!!'' she wrote.

In Keys' opinion, working on this project allowed him to reflect on his life and grow as a person. “[It’s been] I experienced a lot of healing within myself…I was able to come to terms with past relationships that may have been difficult for me. ”
