San Luis Obispo, California, June 12, 2024 LONDON, Oct 23, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The Food Empowerment Project (FEP), a vegan food justice organization, is pleased to announce that a long-term boycott of Amy's Kitchen products called by employees of the company and FEP has ended. During the boycott, hundreds of consumers, including vegans, food justice advocates, labor unions, and grocery co-ops, joined Amy's line workers in demanding improved treatment and working conditions.
After eight months of discussions with food line workers at Amy's Kitchen, Santa Rosa, CaliforniaFEP representatives and Amy's Kitchen executives said they would not only improve working conditions for food line workers, Santa RosaBut the company also acknowledged that people were suddenly laid off at its now-closed Amy's Kitchen location in San Jose.

FEP will continue to be in contact with Amy's workers to ensure these decisions and treatment are permanent, and will return in a year to see if workers' wages have increased and if employees are receiving cost-of-living increases.
Additionally, Amy's Kitchen has agreed to increase its production of vegan foods.
