Coronado deserves better restaurants.
Don't get me wrong. There are some great works out there, including his Serẽa, Little Frenchie, The Henry, and Nobu coming next year. But every decent meal equates to what I call the Coronado tax. saw Gas bill?—5 more overpriced and mediocre meals. It's worth having a view.
Still, I don't mind paying a premium for quality. It looks like more quality is headed to the island this spring when JT Prime Kitchen & Cocktails opens at 932 Orange Avenue.
This will be the third incarnation of chef Alex Trujillo's concept, which currently has locations in Yuma and Scottsdale, Arizona, and will take over the former Primavera Ristorante space. JT Prime Coronado's menu will include the group's signature dishes such as roasted pork belly, house-made short rib ravioli and steakhouse favorites, as well as prime lunch hour items from JT Brothers' handcrafted sandwiches in Trujillo. , it will be unique. To the Coronado location. Enjoy a full bar of wine, beer and spirits, as well as a wide selection of cocktails.
There's a lot to like about Coronado. This is my personal favorite beach in San Diego. There's a lot of sand. Ice skating at Hotel Del during your vacation is almost a rite of passage. I would be happy if I could have another (delicious) reason to cross the bridge.

Piping hot honey is drizzled on the pizza.the everytime There is no better service than Tribute Pizza. We're bringing back Mike's Hot Honey Party for the third time on Saturday, March 23rd. Florida-based barcade Arcade Monsters will soon open in the former Coffee & Tea Collective space at 704 J Street in the East Village. This has been in the works for a while now, but it's annoying because Instagram stories show the arcade being pushed into the front door.
Michimichi, the baking collective led by founder Vanessa Corrales and executive pastry chef Arely Chavez, is opening (soon!) at 2800 Fifth Avenue. I can't wait for the cream puffs!
Counterpoint in Golden Hill is still undergoing extensive renovations, but hopes to reopen by the end of this month. Good, because I need a Nashville hot chicken sandwich ASAP.
