Bellmead, Texas (KWTX) – Sandra Mata, 44, was charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury after stabbing her boyfriend in the abdomen with a 3-inch kitchen knife, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. ing.
The attack occurred April 20 at a home in the 1200 block of Ashleman Street.
When police officers arrived at the home to investigate the riot, they encountered a man wearing bloodstained clothes.
“The man had a large amount of blood on the left side of his jacket near his abdomen,” police said in an affidavit.
The man told police he went home to let his girlfriend in, but when he arrived he discovered she had broken a window and entered the residence.
According to the affidavit, the man told police that he entered the residence through the back door and that his girlfriend stabbed him in the stomach.
Officers interviewed the boyfriend, identified in the affidavit as Mata, and the woman admitted to stabbing the man during the argument.
Mata told officers the knife he used to stab the victim was in the sink, according to the affidavit.
“Officers observed a small stainless steel kitchen knife with blood on it in the kitchen sink,” the affidavit states.
Mata was taken into custody and is being held in the McLennan County Jail on a $7,500 bond.
The victim's lungs were “damaged” during the stabbing, the affidavit states.
