The closures affect 33 Foxtrot stores and two Dom's Kitchen & Market stores in the Chicago, Austin, Dallas, and Washington, D.C., areas.
The retailer said it had “explored a number of avenues to continue operations but was unable to find a viable option.”

A Foxtrot sign at 900 West Armitage Avenue in Chicago said the company had $180 million “in the hole.” The sign also said, “(I'm not kidding),” FOX 32 reported.
The announcement comes after the two chains merged in November 2023 and subsequently operated under the name Outfox Hospitality.
Foxtrot CEO Liz Williams said in a statement in November that the brands “share a common mission to modernize the way people shop” and work together to “move the retail industry forward.” He said it was integrated.
Foxtrot was founded in Chicago in 2013 by Mike LaVitola and Taylor Bloom as an online-only alcohol and food delivery company. Over the next few years, the company expanded into brick-and-mortar locations in multiple metropolitan areas, fueled by his $100 million Series C funding in January 2022.
