Broadway Box Office Analysis: Hell's Kitchen First appearance in the top 5 highest earners
While the Alicia Keys musical didn't win the coveted Best Musical award at this year's Tony Awards, it's still likely to be one of the best-performing new musicals of the season.
Alicia Keys Musical Hell's Kitchen had a great week at the box office, beating its previous week's gross by over $160,000 and debuting in the top five mainstream box office grosses. Hamilton, Eviland The Lion King Gross takings increased, and Shubert's musical remains the best-performing new musical this season, despite missing out on the coveted best musical award at this year's Tony Awards. cabaret It ranked 5th.
But the Tony Awards help, too. Best Musical winner Outsider It ranked seventh in the top 10 highest-grossing shows last week, breaking the Bernard B. Jacobs box office record for the fourth week in a row. Hell's Kitchen It's a financial competition, but only time will tell.
