HENDERSON (KTNV) — This AAPI Heritage Month, we tell you about notable local Asian American and Pacific Islander-owned restaurants.
Many people have reached out and nominated their restaurants, including the restaurant I went to this week, Charm Thai Kitchen and Coffee in Henderson.
The restaurant was recommended by Ken and Jan Stotler, who say they have eaten there about twice a week since it opened.
“The food is excellent and authentic,” the Stottlers wrote.
“This place is always packed during lunch and dinner, which is saying a lot considering they don't do any advertising. They also have a good selection of coffee and tea, and have recently added beer. Most of the cooking is done by Ploy and Ploy. Timmy, the owner, please try it!
Owner and head chef Timmy describes his restaurant as a “labor of love.” He said he aims to share a taste of his upbringing in his casual and fun atmosphere.
“I want to share a little bit of the food that I grew up with. It's simple, casual and fun. It's not traditional, but it's delicious that everyone can try,” he said.
The restaurant is family-owned and Timmy only incorporates family recipes into the menu. Each dish reflects Thai culture and tradition, offering a taste of home for many. The coffee served at the restaurant is also infused with Thai flavors, giving a unique twist to the traditional drink.
Charm Thai Kitchen and Coffee is located at 1770 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy. in Henderson. You can check out the menu on their website here.
If you would like to nominate an AAPI restaurant to be featured on “Good Morning Las Vegas,” please email your suggestion to desk@ktnv.com. Please let us know why you think we should visit.
