Clemson University The board announced April 5 that it approved $6.8 million to fund various project approvals and improvements.
The project includes:
- Parking Improvements – $2.5 million to support construction on the R-4 property across from the South Carolina Botanical Garden off Perimeter Road. The project includes adding a retaining wall around the south perimeter, adding site lighting, surveillance cameras, and a stormwater system with a detention pond, as well as creating 113 parking spaces connecting sites R-4 and C-1. included. Construction is scheduled to begin in May and be completed in August.
- Madren Kitchen Project – $3.6 million in housing and dining funding and $700,000 in maintenance and administration funding. Upgrades include interior renovations to create a new commercial kitchen, as well as renovations to support spaces, conference and seminar rooms, and loading dock areas. Construction is expected to begin in May and be completed in December.
The board also approved three new degree programs, including:
- College of Behavioral and Social Health Sciences – Ph.D. Program in Health Psychology
- College of Education – Education Specialist Degree. It satisfies her 30-hour requirement for a master's degree that allows K-12 educators to receive higher pay.
- Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
