In a new campaign led by Courage Inc., popular cheese brand Cracker Barrel reveals its first step in fighting food waste: transforming leftover ingredients into delicious recipes with the help of cheese.
Cracker Barrel partnered with renowned Canadian chefs Trevor Louis and Devan Rajkumar to design the Cracker Barrel Invisible Cookbook platform to inspire culinary ingenuity by showing you how to use leftovers from your recipe list and transform them into delicious new recipes you'll want to return to.
“Today's popular recipes tend to leave two big outcomes: a delicious meal and a pile of excess ingredients that didn't make the cut,” said Vince Beter, general manager of Cheese & Table Spreads. “As part of our sustainability roadmap, Cracker Barrel is rising to this challenge and working to eliminate food waste by empowering home cooks to maximize the potential of every ingredient with Cracker Barrel cheese.”
The campaign's engaging microsite is accompanied by a feature-length video that reveals the hidden truth about culinary waste habits, highlighting how leftover ingredients (aka “invisible ingredients”) are the foundation for new discoveries for home cooks, unifying all recipes under one delicious banner.
“Cracker Barrel is a timeless staple in Canadian households, making it the perfect platform to amplify the impact of this new initiative,” said Joel Holtby, founder and CCO of Courage Inc. “We wanted to demonstrate how easy it is to incorporate sustainability into everyday cooking habits and show that with good quality products, there's no waste.”
