Dinner at Cruz Kitchen & Taps. Casual atmosphere, complex flavors and great service. Opened by Damion Deworken and Mia Thorn, the restaurant is located on the corner of Pacific Avenue and Laurel Street. Deworken, formerly of Drunk Monkeys, has spent the past 22 years learning the inside story of cooking and the restaurant industry. Co-owner Thorn is a practicing oncology nurse who feels it is her mission to “help people truly enjoy life,” and that “food is a key component in helping people celebrate big and small moments alike.” While Deworken creates the culinary “magic” in the kitchen, Thorn focuses on ensuring the dining experience and service are top-notch.
