“Well, it's been a bumpy road so far,” Patel recalled of the Netflix film-turned-Universal film backed by producer Jordan Peele. “I mean, it was pretty amazing. I was making a very low-budget film about sheep chasing in Yorkshire, and I got a call from an agent from CAA who said, 'Jordan Peele is going to film your movie. I saw this and would like to talk to you.'' “What?!” I thought. It was a Hollywood moment, and the next thing I know, I'm on a Zoom call with Jordan.
We talked for about 3 hours and I knew he would be a great collaborator.
“He picked this film up off the floor, dusted it off, and put it back on the mantelpiece. I'll always be grateful to him for that.”
With early glowing reviews and glowing eyes john wick comparison, monkey man ” is poised to be one of the biggest hits of 2024.
