Frugal shoppers know that Dollar Tree is not only great for grocery shopping and staying within your weekly shopping budget, but also for a variety of small, practical household items. The store is big on super-useful household items, offering everything from kitchen tools you use all the time to knockoff snack boxes for snacking on the go to inexpensive organizers to keep things neat and tidy.
The bargain store is best known for these handy finds, but lately they've been focusing on dinnerware too. I was recently impressed by a $1 tumbler from Dollar Tree that's just as appealing as a $20 William Sonoma tumbler. Now the store has a collection of ceramic dishes that no one would guess were made by Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree Dollie shared a post on Instagram showcasing what they're calling the “most gorgeous new decorative ceramic plates,” and the products are just gorgeous: The dinner plates feature a mandala pattern in black and white, and in addition to the dinner plates, the company also appears to feature the same bohemian-inspired pattern on salad plates, bowls, and mugs.
According to one Dollar Tree Dolly follower, ceramic dishes are dishwasher-safe. [break easily]”They're just like regular thick plates. I got them.” No price was mentioned in the Instagram post, and the plates aren't listed on Dollar Tree's website, but all of the ceramic dinner plates listed on the store's website are priced at $1.25 each, so it's safe to assume they're a similar price.
But a nearly identical black-and-white china dinnerware set sold at Macy's isn't quite as expensive: The Tabletops Unlimited Black Pad Print set for four includes four dinner plates, four salad plates, and four cereal bowls. The entire set costs $78.
Before you trade in your old dinner plates for these dollar store beauties, there's one thing you should know: the dishware isn't available in all stores yet. According to one commenter who reached out to the company's headquarters, the black and white dishware is “a test product and is only being sent to a limited number of stores.”
Yes, I can almost hear you sigh as you read this. But maybe, if your local Dollar Tree is one of the test locations, you'll find these on the shelves. And if not, these plates are so beautiful and so on-trend for anyone embracing bohemian style that they likely did pretty well in testing, which means they could be in even more stores in the future.
