RFI's ePOP video contest opens on June 5th. More information will be announced in the coming days, but you can already start planning your videos.
The ePOP video contest is sponsored by Planète Radio, an RFI division whose mission is to give a voice to the voiceless. ePOP focuses on the environment and how climate change is affecting “ordinary” people. You will be creating his 3-minute video about climate change, the environment, and pollution, told by the people affected.
So, start thinking and planning your video!

This week's quiz: On April 13th, I asked about an article written by RFI's British journalist Melissa Chemam. She says, “Sudan conference opens in Paris to resolve 'forgotten' crisis.'' The Sudanese crisis has been pushed out of the global conversation by other ongoing conflicts, including those in the Middle East and Ukraine, and has so far been funded out of the €3.8 billion target of the UN's latest humanitarian appeal. This year, according to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, only 5%.
You had to read Melissa's article again and answer the following questions. Besides France, Germany and the EU, who else was attending this conference?
The answer is, To quote Melissa's article, “The ministerial meeting was held behind closed doors and also included representatives from Sudan's neighbors, Gulf states, Western countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as regional organizations and the United Nations.”
The talks were a success and French President Emmanuel Macron said the Paris meeting had raised more than 2 billion euros in aid to support Sudan and its neighbors.
