If you've driven by the SuperTarget shopping center on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., you may have noticed recent changes to the flooring store next to Marshall's. In fact, new owner Giovanni Gocai has not only changed the showroom's name, but also greatly expanded the services Giovanni's Flooring, Kitchen and Bath now offers.
Originally from Albania, Giovanni moved to New Port Richey's Trinity neighborhood in 2002 and has now been in the flooring, kitchen and bath remodeling business for over 20 years.
By 2011, Giovanni decided to open his own flooring store in Trinity. After about 10 years, he decided to obtain a general contractor's license himself to expand his store's services.
“As a family-owned business, we understand the importance of creating spaces that reflect each family's unique style and needs,” says Giovanni's website, GiovanniFlooringLLC.com Say. “From luxurious hardwood floors to durable tile, we offer a wide range of flooring options to suit every taste and budget. We also specialize in complete bathroom and kitchen remodeling projects. , transforming an outdated space into a modern, functional and beautiful area that increases the overall value and enjoyment of your home.”
He decided to bring all of that experience to the burgeoning Wesley Chapel area and began talking last year with Andy Dunning, the former owner of the American Flooring store where Giovanni's is now located.
“I've known Andy for almost 15 years,” Giovanni says. “I previously did an installation at his New Port Richey store.”
He added, “Given the growth in Wesley Chapel, we thought it was the perfect time to give it a shot and open a second location in the area.”
Available services
Giovanni says that while the sale and installation of all types of flooring remains an important part of his business, he is also happy to offer full kitchen and bath remodeling services to the Wesley Chapel area.
“I use a variety of vendors and get my kitchen and bath fixtures and other products from many different places,” he says. “My team and I can basically design and install almost anything you want.”
As for the flooring itself, Giovanni says the most common requests he receives are luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and hardwood flooring. “And I have or can get just about every brand out there.”
One of the new product lines he currently carries is Mohawk flooring and the equally popular Mannington LVP. They are scratch resistant, child and pet friendly, and completely waterproof.

And while American Flooring had installers on hand, Giovanni's is taking it a step further.
“My whole family, including my brother Peter, father Luik, and cousins Julian, Elvis and Emilio, work with me on the installation.”
And while many people believe that hardware store warehouses always have lower prices, Giovanni says that's simply not true.
“Why should people check us out before those places?” he asks. “Because we offer higher quality flooring at a better price and we stand behind our work.”
Giovanni describes his business philosophy: “Quality is first for us. The reason we have so many 5-star reviews is because people love what we do so much.”
However, since it's only been open in Wesley Chapel for about a month, he says there aren't any local reviews yet.
“But all of the Google reviews for the Trinity store are five out of five stars,” he says. “We've never had any complaints.”
