Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar, located in The Village at Ranchala, is excited to announce the launch of “Grafted Kitchen,” a new nonprofit dedicated to providing culinary education to at-risk youth ages 15 to 19. Grafted owners Jade and Chad Bogan will open a new 2,500 square foot culinary training facility on Oddie Boulevard in Sparks. The nonprofit will give youth the opportunity to participate in a year-long paid internship where they will receive culinary, business and hospitality training.
“It is our hope that Grafted Kitchen will create a safe and supportive space for local youth to learn new skills and gain the strength to change the trajectory of their lives,” said Jade Bogan, owner of Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar. “In addition to culinary instruction, the internship also provides wrap-around services including GED and educational support, mental health support and any other needs determined by our on-staff social worker.”
Grafted Kitchen is committed to a set of core values that guide their mission to empower and uplift individuals in their community: “Restore, Equip, Dream, Build Bridges, and Graft.” Their goal is to restore dignity and purpose, provide skills essential to success, inspire bold dreams, build bridges to meaningful employment, and support growth and transition.
Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar will be hosting an informational evening on June 6th at 6pm to introduce the nonprofit to the community. All proceeds will benefit Grafted Kitchen's start-up costs for equipment and programming. For general information and tickets, visit their website at graftedkitchen.com.
