In the scene, Mr. Dursley is thumbing through the mail while Harry admires the Hogwarts envelope with his name on it.
However, in the background, Petunia can be seen rummaging through a pile of clothes in a very large pot.
In fact, Aunt Petunia had dyed some of Dudley's old clothes grey for Harry to wear.
This was because the Dursleys had originally planned to send Harry to Stonewall High School, which was considered less prestigious than Dudley's Smeltings Academy.
