Now that she's lost weight, Heidi Montag is all about balance. She's treating herself, but with conditions. Montag, 37, shared a humorous video of herself in leggings and a gray shirt, doing squats in her kitchen while sipping wine. “I Googled it and it said 60 squats with one glass of red wine,” she said. “So I burn off the wine.” Here's how the reality TV star lost 22 pounds and is in the best shape of her life.
Montag lifts weights and hikes outdoors. “I train five to seven times a week for an hour. That's all I could do as a mother,” she said. Us Weekly“I do a lot of weight training. It's high-intensity foundational training: squats, push-ups, pull-ups, ring rows, lunges. I like to get outside and go hiking with my boys. If I'm holding Ryker, I'll squat down and do 10 squats. I try to train on the go.”
Montag recommends taking it slow when it comes to post-pregnancy fitness: “Whether that means brisk walking with a stroller or high-energy cardio, it's up to you, but start at your own pace and increase the intensity as you get stronger,” she said. First time for women“Use fitness bands or light hand weights, or do exercises that use your own body as resistance, such as lunges, squats and push-ups.”

Montag cut out carbs and alcohol while she was losing weight. “I cut out a lot of carbs,” she said. Us Weekly“I ate bread once a day, cut back on sugar and alcohol, and I also tried to get a little bit more sleep, which is huge.” Now that she's in maintenance mode, Montag has loosened up on her diet a little. “Overall, I'm a really healthy person. I feel great. I like carbs, so now that I'm at the weight I want to be, I can add a little bit more. [back in] It gives you more flexibility. [See box for more of Montag’s daily diet.] And I train three times a week.”
Montag ate raw organ meats before she became pregnant: “If you think about where the most nutrients are that are toxin-free and available to humans, animal organs are a very nutritious part of the body,” she said. people“Culturally the organ meats are an important part of the diet, and eating raw liver preserves as many nutrients as possible.”
Montag is wary of prescription drugs like Ozempic. “I have friends who take Ozempic and love it… [but] “I want to be careful about jumping on that trend,” she said. Us Weekly“This is something people need to research. What is your goal? Do you just want to lose weight quickly or do you want to get stronger? In my case, I want to take the harder route with long-term results. Ozempic and other brands create a shortcut mentality and are like, 'Is it sustainable?' If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.”
