(Reuters) – Alicia Keys' musical “Hell's Kitchen” and 1970s rock-inspired “Stereophonic” lead nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards, American theater's highest honor, followed by “The Outsiders,'' “Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club,'' and “Appropriate.''
Nominations announced by the Tony Awards committee on Tuesday include “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Water for Elephants,” “Pearly Victorious: A Non-Confederate Adventure Through the Cotton Fields,” and “Suffix.” ' has also been nominated multiple times.
The winners will be announced at a June 16 ceremony commemorating the award's 77th anniversary celebrating Broadway talent.
“Hell’s Kitchen” and “Stereophonic” each received 13 nominations, while “The Outsider,” based on S.E. William Jackson Harper, Leslie Odom Jr., Liev Schreiber, Jeremy Strong, and Michael Stuhlbarg are nominated for Best Actor in a Play, while Brody Grant, Jonathan Groff, and Dorian are nominated for Best Actor in a Musical. Harewood, Brian d'Arcy James and Eddie Redmayne are nominated. .
