Named after the late Broadway icon, the award celebrates excellence in dance and choreography from the past, present and future. The Chita Rivera Award also works to develop future generations and preserve distinguished dance history through education and scholarship.

Attendees also enjoyed performances by Broadway cast members. heart of rock and roll and Tommy from The Who.
As previously announced, this year's Chita Rivera Awards also honored three-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters with a Lifetime Achievement Award.Tony and Oscar winner Joel Gray shared the stage with Peters on Broadway. George M! Awards were presented to Broadway favorites.
Maite Natalio (Suffs, How to Dance in Ohio) Winner of the Douglas and Ethel Watt Critics' Choice Award, which recognizes outstanding work outside of its original category. and Phil Laduca, who received the Vanguard Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the international dance community.
