HELL'S KITCHEN, Manhattan (WABC) — Two teenagers slashed each other during a fight inside a Hell's Kitchen school Tuesday afternoon.
It happened on the fourth floor inside the Stephen T. Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School, 439 West 49th Street.
A 17-year-old suffered cuts to his chest and a 15-year-old suffered cuts to his face.
One person was taken to emergency medical care for treatment and the other was taken to the hospital.
The Ministry of Education issued the following statement:
“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. Violence has absolutely no place in our schools and this behavior will not be tolerated. Our outstanding school staff and NYPD School Safety Officers The school immediately responded to an incident between a student and the school.''The school was placed under a soft lockdown, which has now been lifted, with additional psychological assistance provided to students who needed it. Provide support. ”
Separately, new cuts were reported Tuesday at the Evander Childs Education Campus, 799 East Gun Hill Road. It appears that a 16-year-old boy slashed a 15-year-old boy in the neck.
And in a third incident on Tuesday, an 18-year-old boy was stabbed outside the Queens School of Advanced Studies, Liberal Arts and Sciences, 74-20 Commonwealth Boulevard in Queens' Glen Oaks neighborhood.
Multiple incidents of cutting by teenagers were reported across the city on Tuesday.
He was stabbed twice, once in the arm and once in the torso. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Few other details were released.
