Marea This show marked her Broadway debut, and Keshia It was his first Tony Award!
During the ceremony, the pair gave moving speeches while accepting their respective awards.

“I would like to dedicate this award to my parents. Fabia and Steve“Dad, you've worked your whole life. Mom, you came to America at 17 and have been surviving ever since.” Marea Said. “Hell's Kitchen ” is a story about a 17-year-old trying to make his dreams come true. I can't imagine how many dreams have been given up and how many sacrifices have been made to give me the life I have today. So tonight, all I want is to celebrate, because this is for you, and we did this together. I love you more than words can express. Thank you.”
Keshia's speech was about perseverance and never giving up.
“I want to thank the people in my life who never made me give up. In my 40 years in this business, there have been so many times when I wanted to give up. Gabriela Diaz Gonzalez, Lisa Vidal, Danieland my long-time friends, Adrienne Lennox and LaChanze“, Keshia She shared, “I took a brief break from showbiz to try and build a career while raising my son as a single mother. This moment is something I've dreamed of for the better part of 40 years. So I say to everyone within earshot: Don't give up!”
