If you're looking for cute and easy ideas for 4th of July desserts, we're here to help today: Audrey shares two ideas that she loves to make with her family every year.
Starfruit skewers:
Ingredients: skewers, blueberries, watermelon
- Take your watermelon and make a star shape out of the fruit, this is the easiest way if you have a star cookie cutter but if you don't you can easily do it with a butter knife.
- Thread the blueberries all the way onto the skewers, then add the watermelon stars.
It's so easy!
4th of July cake:
Ingredients: cake batter, white frosting, blueberries, strawberries, food coloring (red and blue).
Method:
- Make the cake according to the directions on the cake box. Make (2) round cakes.
- Get out your frosting (I use two containers) and use the red dye to make a red frosting and the blue dye to make a blue frosting.
- Take one layer and frost it red or blue.
- Add other layers.
- Add other colors of frosting.
- Add the top layer.
- Spread white frosting onto remaining cake.
- Then use the fruit to create a masterpiece, you can do whatever you want, I like to add red and blue accents to the fruit, but you can also create a flag on top.
enjoy!
