After Jack's Bar & Kitchen closes in downtown State College, Lion's Den owner Chris Rosengrant and business partner Mike Frinton will take over the space vacated.
Everything is currently in the “permit phase,” said Rosengrant and Frinton, former owner of The First, Local Whiskey and Central Reservation, are redesigning everything.
“All of Jack's Bar & Kitchen will be gone,” Rosengrant said. “We can’t say anything about permits or license transfers, but our goal is to reopen this fall.”
Rosengrant, who has been involved in the State College nightlife business for years, said the business that replaces Jack's Bar & Kitchen will be one of the few locations that will be truly locally owned.
“It's not a corporate entity or a large investment group,” Rosengrant said.
Rosengrant said the project is very important to Frinton and himself as the bar is renovated and reorganized.
“This is a passion project,” Rosengrant said. “We will be one of the last local businesses.”
Rosengrant said further information would be released in mid-to-late June.
