In my eyes, there is nothing more heartwarming than the story of a family-owned restaurant and bar. A new restaurant has opened in Verona, New Jersey.
Jimmy's Family Kitchen opened this year and is run by chef Jimmy Hill and his son Brian of more than 40 years.
Brian posted on Instagram that his father was “a coach, a role model, and a best friend.”
“It is a great pleasure to share that we are official business partners and we are very excited to bring a fresh dining experience to Verona,” he said.
The restaurant and bar was opened with the intention of “providing a fresh and innovative dining experience,” according to its website.
Jimmy Hill has been in business in Verona for 40 years.
Jimmy's Family Kitchen offers dine-in and takeout as well as catering options and can accommodate private gatherings.
Here are some of the things Jimmy's Family Kitchen has to offer
pork chop jumbotta (What they label as one of their staple foods)
salad
pasta with pesto (It's one of my favorite dishes, so of course I was excited to see this!)
And some of Jimmy's specials:
arugula salad Roasted tomatoes and peppers, red onions, fresh mozzarella and shaved Parmesan cheese
short ribs Garlic mashed potatoes and gravy
Hmm!
And of course, the cocktails:
