Caldwell County's King's Kitchen has successfully completed its 11th summer of feeding area children, serving more than 28,000 meals this year alone.
Lee Ann Gilkey of the nonprofit said it's been an “amazing” year. She said King's Kitchen started with zero funding but thanks to community support they were able to raise $40,000. The funds have allowed them to provide breakfast and lunch to 200 kids on their list and additional kids on a waiting list, for a total of more than 220 kids fed through their program this summer.
