When designing the home, the PKA team developed a partial-height wall, clad in quartzite, and positioned behind the Wolf Mountains to maximize lake views. The ventilation hood is hidden in the attic of the cabinetry to maintain aesthetic continuity, and the adjacent pantry is designed to provide access to appliances and out of sight. Meanwhile, the bar is centrally located for access from both indoors and outdoors. “The way this home is incorporated into the site, the landscaping, and the open yet functional plan is truly special,” Anderson says. “It’s casual, perfect for entertaining, and takes advantage of the lake setting.”
The Winners Summit and Gala will be held from October 13th to 16th at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and both Anderson and Angaran will be in attendance. At the gala, 13 of his final projects will be awarded to him 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the categories of contemporary, transitional and traditional design.
