Video: Firefighters were busy Tuesday battling an apartment fire in the Heights and acres of land burning in West Concord.

CONCORD, N.H. — Concord Fire and Rescue teams and other firefighters were busy Tuesday fighting a kitchen fire and a wildfire.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., teams were dispatched to Alton Woods for a report of a fire with smoke coming from the rear of one of the apartment buildings. Concord Police were also sent to assist.

Upon arrival, they found a small kitchen fire on the ground floor of an apartment building and requested additional firefighters. In addition to the Concord team, Bow firefighters were also requested.

Shortly after the Alton Woods call, firefighters were dispatched to North State Street on a call of a wildfire.
Firefighters went up and down North State Street but could not find any fire. Around 10:45 a.m., firefighters said the fire broke out behind the Hood factory and prison retail store.
Firefighters noticed smoke coming from the area and discovered the fire. The bow firefighter was also requested to help.

Shortly before 11 a.m., firefighters reported the Alton Woods kitchen fire was largely contained.
At about the same time, Engine 5 reported that an arched transformer was coming from the ditch behind the Hood Mill, burning about an acre of land, and the fire was spreading toward the hills.
“All of Concord is bound by the (Alton Woods) fire, so we're going to need forestry services from other towns,” said Cmdr.
Boscawen Forestry Unit was requested to assist at the scene.
Penacook Rescue and Tri-Town Ambulance assisted with mutual aid across the city, as did firefighters from Boscawen, Hooksett, Manchester and Pembroke.
