Kitchen Killa Culinary Solutions and our friends are partnering with State Representative Travis Nelson to host a community cookout this week. Chef Chiara Hardy, aka Kitchen Kira, will be hosting her first community chef at George Park, 7240 Fessenden Street, Portland, Oregon 97023, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We're excited to host a cookout. Local business owners plan to provide 400 meals to underserved families and individuals in the St. John's area. Hardy's goal is to share cookout flyers with churches, nonprofits, and the media so that single mothers, at-risk LGBTQ+ teens, housing-vulnerable youth, and seniors can receive free food. It's about providing lunch. In addition to providing lunch, drinks, and music, there will also be clothing sales activities.
Thanks to the support of local BIPOC-owned businesses and organizations including DB Dessert Company, DNA Consulting, The Kidz Outside, KF Curates, Press Release Marketing, Arden Event Collective, District 9, Small and Mighty Events & Balloons, and All N Haul , lunch and donated items are available for purchase while event supplies last. St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church stands ready to manage the distribution of surplus items. With music by DJ OG ONE, Chef Chiara and her friends hope people can have a fun and safe time in public parks. Registration is not required. If the weather is nice, we recommend eating lunch on the grass in the park. Please bring your own chairs and blankets if you have them. Click here for more information.
