Quik
Quik Danish kitchen manufacturer KvikLiving is launching its first furniture collection as it aims to “show it's more than just a kitchen brand” and is already planning further expansion.
Towards a comprehensive range
KvikLiving, the diversification of kitchen chain Kvik into furniture, has had modest beginnings. The first collection consists of two dining chairs and one lounge chair. The new chairs, designed for Kvik by Hans Thyge & Co, are (almost) completely recyclable. The new label was launched at the international design festival 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. The new collection will be available online and in stores this autumn.
For Kvik, the expansion is “a step towards a comprehensive offering of Danish design,” and fits in with the kitchen, bathroom, and dressing collections that have been included in the range since the beginning. “We want to show that we are more than a kitchen brand,” says Claus Johnsen, head of design at Kvik. “From here, we already have plans to expand further into the KvikLiving collection.”
In addition to the new KvikLiving collection, Kvik also unveiled new tools at the event that calculate the environmental impact of its products, allowing customers to see at the time of purchase, for example, how much recycled PET bottles or recycled wood has been used in their new kitchen, as well as its carbon footprint.
