A “heatstroke watch” has been in effect since Monday morning, with temperatures in the mid-90s and dangerously humid. As of this writing, the watch is supposed to be lifted 30 minutes before publication, but it hasn't made it any cooler, just a little less humid. (UPDATE: No, it's still going through Wednesday.) Then, Thursday night, something miraculous happened in recent July, and we had several nights with temperatures below 70 degrees Fahrenheit.°!

This is the diary of generations of entertainers. The original version was scheduled a few weeks ago and featured Minnie Riperton and her daughter Maya Rudolph.
