Doing things with your family is never smooth or easy to accomplish. So our plans to drive to Canada (or around) keep changing. We were actually heading to the Walmart parking lot in Canada. derby, (Vermont, but that's a whole other story) Anyway, the plan was to stand in my driveway with my cardboard glasses by the eclipse start time around 2:15 and watch the 93% eclipse until I got bored. The plan changed to observing (about 20 minutes at 3:45), then I went inside and had a drink.
Whatever the downside of this, even if there are many of them, it must be said that “no more than 8 hours of driving per day” is a huge advantage. I'm glad I went in 2017. It was a more well-planned excursion that involved another branch of the family. My nephew promised me that he would go in 2044. I couldn't ask for more.

Anyway, my response was to post the “literal video” version. And I thought, “Surely she wrote her KTK diary about this…?” But as far as I know, I'm not. And once I started looking for them, I remembered that they are not the works of a single artist, but a genre like Balcoa. As such, they are very uneven and tend to fall into frat boy humor in their case, which can be eye-rolling for someone older than a frat boy.
But since I and apparently everyone else had so much fun on Sunday, I thought I'd see what I could put together. Certainly all other themes adjacent to the solar eclipse will have been thoroughly worked out by now. As you might have guessed, what we're doing here is taking the original video and replacing the song's lyrics with a literal description of what's happening in the video. You'll quickly find out that the weirder the video, the better the literal version is.

I'll link, but I'm not going to embed all the original videos, but no matter how weird the “literal” version looks, it's still the original video, probably shortened a bit, and only the audio changed. I guarantee you that there is. Tampered with, uh, enhanced.
