A unique sushi experience is coming to the former California Pizza Kitchen site at Smith Haven Mall.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar will open this summer at 618 Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, where CPK operated for more than 10 years before closing in December.
This will be Kura Sushi's second location on Long Island and fourth in New York, following locations in Carle Place, Flushing and Scarsdale.
The Carle Place store opened last July in the Country Glen Shopping Center.
“Our brand has been extremely successful in the Northeast, and we are excited to open our first New York restaurant at Carle Place in the Country Glen Shopping Center on July 17,” said Robert Krueger, chief development officer for Kura Sushi USA, at the opening of the Carle Place location.
The new Smith Haven store will be 3,000 square feet and feature 20 booths and eight counter seats.
So what is unique about this region?
Kura Sushi features a conveyor belt sushi counter where customers can choose their sushi from a conveyor belt that constantly passes by each table. Customers can also use a tablet to make custom orders right from their seat. Drinks are delivered by a delivery robot, Kur-B (KuraBot). Check out this reel to see for yourself.
“All of these things are great, but the best part about dining here is the high-quality, affordable food,” Kruger said. “We offer a wide selection of more than 140 authentic Japanese dishes, including sushi, noodles, sides and desserts, all without artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives or colorings.”
All sushi plates are priced at $3.80 each, with other menu items varying in price, click here for more information.
Kura Sushi was founded in 1977 and currently operates over 500 stores across Japan, Taiwan and the United States.
