Lakeland, Florida – The Lakeland Fire Department responded to the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen store on US-98 in Lakeland on Thursday for reports of a fire.
Around 5 a.m., Lakeland firefighters responded to the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located at 2550 HWY 98 N.
A caller passing by the area reported seeing flames in the parking lot, possibly coming from shrubbery behind the building.

Arriving firefighters found the fire had spread into the building and immediately upgraded the call to a structure fire.
Additional units were dispatched to respond to provide additional resources to the first responding units. Firefighters had to force entry into the building and extinguish the fire in the walls and attic.
After controlling the scene, Lakeland Fire Department investigators began investigating the scene.
Seven LFD units responded to the call, but no injuries were reported.
