After a long wait, Lamp & Shade Craft Kitchen and Cocktails is set to open this month, offering guests a refreshing dining experience in the heart of Orlando.
Located within the historic walls of the former Lamp Shade Faire location at 1336 N. Mills Ave., Lamp & Shade features an Asian-inspired tapas-style menu. We are currently accepting reservations online for the opening on May 22nd.
From small plates like charred bok choy and mussel curry to table-ready seafood hotpots, Lamp and Shade's menu features unique Asian flavors. We also offer desserts such as purple sweet potato cheesecake and castella cake.
As stated on the drinks menu, Lamp & Shade's name comes from the idea of hanging out and providing shade for conversation. The drinks menu includes playful drinks such as Tony's Tiki His Tea, a flavor that combines Thai tea, oat milk, and various liqueurs such as VS Cognac and Zacapa 23 Rum.
Therefore, guests are encouraged to spill some Thai tea and provide shade until late at night. Lamp and Shade is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Although this quaint spot has endured delays to its opening, Lamp & Shade vows to dazzle guests with its upscale interior design.In-store mural by artist Sumner Mormeneo is meant to be a conversation piece that explores the meaning behind a concept. The restaurant's exterior features a “Diversity Mural” painted by an artist Shelley Bocera pays tribute to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting and dedicates it to all those who have suffered from discrimination.
