But Kitchens hasn't had many “bad days” in 2024. With three races remaining in the 2024 outdoor season, the Washougal native sits third in the 250 class standings, behind Washougal National winners Hayden Deegan and Tom Viale.
Kitchens also placed second in the 250 class of the Supermotocross World Championship. The Supermotocross World Championship is a comprehensive 31-race season that combines the Winter AMA Supercross Championship, held from January through mid-May on artificial race tracks in major stadiums across the United States, and the Summer Pro Motocross Championship, held from late May through August in off-road motorcycle racing's most iconic rural venues.
“It finally happened,” Kitchens said after the FXR Spring Creek National. “It's been a long journey, but after my third place motocross finish at Red Bud (National in Buchanan, Michigan on July 6), it was time to make a move. I just worked really hard throughout the week leading up to Spring Creek and it all fell into place.”
The Washougal native won both moto races at the FXR Spring Creek National, scoring his first career outdoor victory in dominant fashion.
He said that in both races “I was able to make some important passes early on and get up to the leaders so I was able to capitalise on my opportunities.”
