It's Monday evening here at Eicher Farm. Everyone is taking a shower and getting ready for bed. Dinner tonight was easy. His son Joseph brought dinner home. The menu had pizza, wings, and subs. What a blessing for his daughter Lovina and me to not have to eat dinner.
Joe and I left after he got home from work and took a shower. We attended a visitation/visiting session with Tim's aunt Sylvia (age 64), his son-in-law. She passed away suddenly on Friday. Her husband found her lying dead in her house, but she was dead. She extends her condolences to her husband and her family. Sylvia lived in the same church district as us for many years. She was always smiling and when I went to their general store or greenhouse she always asked how we were doing. She will be sorely missed! Her husband, Marvin, will continue to spend his days alone. All four children are married and he currently lives alone.
I had to help carry the plates for tonight's dinner. I made Cherry Delight. Tomorrow morning, by the Lord's will, I will be attending the funeral with sisters Verena and Emma.
Joe is going to work. He took several days off last week due to illness. Well, I won't be working this entire week. Bad timing to build a new pole barn. We're not getting any younger and the bills still have to be paid. We spend each day trusting God. We need to trust him because he knows the future.
God willing, church services will be held at the home of my daughter Susan and Irvin on Sunday. They still have a lot of work to do. Helping them out on Saturday were Joe, myself, and our sons Benjamin, Joseph, and Kevin. daughter Lovina and her special friend Danielle; daughters Loretta, Dustin and sons; and daughter Elizabeth, Tim and children. A lot has been achieved!
Irvin's father is still in the hospital and is making some progress. After being discharged from the hospital, you will need to go to a rehabilitation center. He can't walk yet. I hope this is short term. Susan was unable to visit Irvin on Sunday because several of his children had the flu. Irvin and his sons Ryan and Curtis went to see Perry. We hope and pray that Perry will make a full recovery.
Although it was windy today, it was a nice day for doing laundry. The towel will become very soft if you let it air dry. It was a little cold to hang the laundry.
Daughter Verena also left this evening to attend Sylvia's visitation/visitation with her special friend Daniel Ray. Daniel Ray's father, Alvin, will be a pallbearer at tomorrow's funeral. They were Sylvia and Marvin and her neighbors for many years. Tomorrow's funeral will be attended by Verena and Danielle Ray, as well as her daughters Elizabeth and Tim. Sylvia has many brothers and sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews, so I'm sure it will be a grand funeral. Sylvia will be buried in a cemetery just down the road from us. In this new cemetery we have three of her loved ones buried, and only one of hers is buried next to her. How it brings back the sad memories of losing her loved one three years ago. We know that God makes no mistakes. May God bless you!
I would like to share the coffee cake recipe that my daughter Susan made on Saturday. It was delicious!
