Lowe's is introducing an experience in its stores that allows customers to virtually design their kitchens using immersive 3D layouts.
In February 2024, the home improvement giant announcedLowes Style Studio“Specially designed Apple Vision ProControlled by the user's eyes and hands and available through the App Store, Lowe's Style Studio allows customers to experience immersive 3D kitchen scenes.
From there, customers can explore the curated preset styles. Lowe's Work with a professional designer to customize your home with hundreds of real-world materials, fixtures and appliances available on Lowes.com or in-store. Lowe's says Style Studio allows for approximately 80 billion possible combinations.
Now, Lowe's becomes the first home improvement retailer to offer customers an in-store experience powered by Apple Vision Pro.
The pilot program will begin in three selected Lowe's stores from June 8-12, starting with Lowe's hometown store in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina. The experience will then be rolled out to Lowe's stores in North Bergen, New Jersey, and Sunnyvale, California, from June 22-25.
Customers in these pilot markets will be able to access an online booking tool to choose the date and time that works best for them, and Lowe's will also accept a limited number of walk-in appointments.
How to use
The in-store Lowe's Style Studio experience centers around an immersive kitchen visualization session: Customers put on an Apple Vision Pro, run the Lowe's Style Studio app, explore preset styles curated by Lowe's professional designers, and customize to their taste with hundreds of real-world materials, fixtures and appliances available on Lowes.com or in-store.
A Lowe's associate will guide customers through the process during a one-on-one appointment, and once they find a theme they like, customers can save their style selections, email, text or AirDrop them in PDF format to friends, family, designers and contractors, and ultimately purchase them in-store, online or through the Lowe's mobile app.

Additionally, the Lowe's Innovation Lab developed the Lowe's Product Expert custom GPT tool for the retailer to provide home improvement product recommendations: Generative AIis based on machine learning (ML) and allows you to create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music.
Lowe's, based in Mooresville, North Carolina, operates more than 1,700 home improvement stores and employs about 300,000 people.
