Martha Stewart is pretty much synonymous with joy. For decades, she's been providing the public with her wisdom and expertise on all things household through her TV show, magazines, blog, and now her social media feeds. Speaking of the latter, her latest post offered a glimpse at some of the most joy-filled kitchen gadgets out there.
In an episode of the Roku original show, Stewart shares her recipe for homemade currant and cream ice cream. It looks delicious, but what's more intriguing to us is the tableware she's surrounded by. The kitchen is dominated by pastel colors, with pink and green ice cream bowls sitting on a yellow tray and a green and yellow cake stand visible in the background. Needless to say, the treats match the tableware perfectly.
Taking a leaf out of the recently launched dopamine decor trend, pastel dishware is a great (and timely) way to inject some color into your kitchen.
“I believe that color has the power to bring about change, and our homes should be sanctuaries of joy and positivity,” says designer Clarissa Hulse. “Dopamine Deco can create spaces that truly lift our spirits. Bright, bold hues bring energy and happiness to our daily lives.”
One color that's garnering particular attention among experts is pink. Having peaked during the Barbie-core craze last summer, decorating with this fun, feminine color shows no signs of slowing down.
“Consumers continue to explore different color palettes and are more open to discovering new favorites,” said Dawn Filkins, creative lead at Smile Kitchens. 'Deep blues and forest greens are popular, but we expect to see more shades of pink pop up as people become more confident about playing with colour.”
Stewart's take on the trend can be seen including coral ice cream bowls and pale pink ingredient bowls in various sizes, which represent just a fraction of pink's versatility and show just how versatile the color can be.
Filkins adds: “Over the past few years, plaster, millennial and pastel pinks have been popping up across furniture, décor and accessories, and now the rose trend is making its way into kitchens as a softer alternative to the warm greige that has slowly replaced grey.”
Pastel colors not only make a space feel more alive and exciting, but they can also generally make a room feel larger than it actually is.
“Soft pinks, mint greens, and pale lavenders add a touch of soft color while still maintaining an airy, spacious feel,” says Danielle Matthews, co-owner of Reborn Renovations. And since Stewart's collection is currently available at Wayfair, achieving this look is easy; these pieces will look beautiful in any kitchen, regardless of the hue.
