Mela Studio Architects opens new home decor store

Homeowners and businesses regularly turn to Mera Studio Architects to redesign their spaces, and with the Calgary interior design and architecture studio opening a new location in Inglewood, Calgarians can now easily incorporate the company's style and favourite pieces into their own spaces.

Meghan and Tara Bannon, owners of Mera Studio Architects, have launched the Very Very Shop, named after a phrase they often use: this sofa is “very very…”. The store aims to make it easy to discover a variety of home decor pieces created with Bannon and Marshall's personal design style in mind.

“When something becomes more than that [unique] Or if it's difficult to explain, you should add emphasis [of very very]”That's how we feel about the products in our stores,” Bannon said.

“We've always had a strong love for interiors,” says Marshall, “but we felt that with the aesthetic we have as a company, locally, and even in Canada, it was hard to find the types of products we were looking for.” Marshall describes Mera's style as modern with a midcentury vibe, using lots of organic textures and rich, neutral tones and colors.

The Very Very Shop stocks local and international homewares that Bannon and Marshall discovered through Mera. From art, ceramics and sculptures to kitchenware, lighting and cupboard handles, the shop stocks a wide range of products, and the team is constantly sourcing new items.

The team also works with companies to create custom products, such as Mela Sound Sconces, a stylish speaker system with built-in lighting that Bannon and Marshall created in collaboration with Leon Speakers.

Housed within an architecture firm, the Very Very Shop is currently open to the public on Fridays from 11am-3pm, but appointments are also available during the week, and products can also be purchased online.
