US snacks and beverage giant Mondelez International has opened a regional biscuit and baked snacks lab and innovation kitchen in Singapore.
The $5 million facility will be used to develop new products for consumers in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. It aims to act as a “strategic regional hub” and will complement the company's existing Singapore technology center, which was established in 2006 and expanded in 2018.
The opening was attended by Chan Yi Ming, Executive Vice President of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Casey Mace, Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore, Deepak Iyer, Executive Vice President and President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA), Mondelez, and Marco Michelsen, Head of R&D in Southeast Asia and Vice President, Biscuits and Baked Goods, AMEA, Mondelez.
Iyer said, “Mondelez International is committed to pushing the boundaries of food innovation and product development. Through our collaborative efforts, we aim to create a dynamic space where creative ideas can flourish and contribute to the development of innovative new products for consumers.”
