Supermarket giant Morrisons has officially opened a significantly expanded new store in Bishopbriggs, Scotland.
The new store, located on Kirkintilloch Road, replaces the previous Morrisons in the same location and offers a wider range of products, expanded fresh food options and a focus on in-store food preparation.
The new Bishopbriggs store is 6,000 square feet larger than the previous location.
It will stock a selection of products from Morrisons' own brand and popular brands, as well as a dedicated home and leisure section, a wide range of clothing from the supermarket's Nutmeg line and a 100-seat café.
The biggest attraction of the new store is the introduction of the “Market Kitchen” concept.
Here, a team of in-house chefs use seasonal ingredients to create fresh meals made to order.
The newly opened Morrison's Café in Market Kitchen serves traditional meals at affordable prices.
The cafe also runs a popular “Kids Eat Free” promotion, which allows one child under 16 to eat free with the purchase of an adult main course worth over £5 ($6.41).
“We know Bishopbriggs residents have been looking forward to the reopening of this new store,” Morrisons Bishopbriggs store manager Paige O'Donnell said.
“This week we are opening a new Morrisons store with expert food preparation at its core and a host of convenient services. We hope customers will love this new store and we look forward to welcoming them.”
The new Bishopbriggs store also introduces additional features such as the return of an in-store pharmacy, the Morrisons The Best range offering premium products at competitive prices, a pizza oven for piping hot, freshly baked pizza on the go and a wider range of free-from products.
The expansion will see Morrisons strengthen its presence in Bishopbriggs, offering residents a more convenient and comprehensive grocery shopping experience.
