I've always felt that cherry pits were aptly named, since the thing you remove from them is the seed itself. As a former professional baker, I've always loved pies, jams, sauces, and other treats made with cherries, but they were never fun to make. That is, until I recently reluctantly tried the Ordekcity Cherry Pitter, a #1 bestseller on Amazon. Generally, I'm not a fan of disposable gadgets, but I have to say this one is revolutionary. If you're planning on making the most of your summer mini stone fruit bounty, you'll want to grab this time-saving item. At just $10, you'll save yourself precious time and a lot of headaches.

If you haven't used one yet, the Ordekcity Cherry Pitter is a simple problem-solver that delivers guaranteed results. Simply place your cherries under the stainless steel rod and press down, and the seeds will fall into a little chute. No more having to cut each cherry in half and remove the seeds by hand, which can be slow, frustrating, and messy.
I haven't personally counted, but the manufacturer claims it can pit 100 cherries in 3 minutes, and I think they're right. It literally takes 1 second. Not much fruit got wasted by the pits sticking to it. Oh, and it can also be used to pit olives! (Yes, pitting olives is not easy.) inevitably It's a disposable gadget. Sue me!
Apparently this tool Too Considering that over 1,800 users have given it a perfect five-star rating, this niche product is highly appealing.
“This cherry pitter is perfect,” said one satisfied shopper. “It works great, doesn't require much hand strength (I have arthritis in my hands and was able to use it with no issues), and is fast and fun to use. The result is a mountain of fresh cherries.”
“I was limping. [on] “I ordered a 'disposable' tool and upon inspection it was much more than just a cherry pitter,” another wrote. “It's also a grape pitter, strawberry stemmer, olive pitter… let me just say this – it's OLIVE!”
“This works really well and I love the silicone base you place the cherries in as it doesn't damage the fruit,” a third said. “Highly recommend for anyone working with whole fruit.”
“I recommend checking to make sure the seeds have really been expelled,” one buyer cautioned. “Sometimes the seeds get stuck inside the cherry and won't come out, so if you see that they're not falling out, check again. Also, don't wear a shirt that you're worried about as the seeds sometimes fly out. But this tool is compact, easy to clean, and a huge time saver.”
“The only downside is the cherry juice might splash out,” a final fan chimed in. “So I just mix the seeds in a bowl to avoid making a mess. Really a great product.”

So how does this device work? Well, you still need to quarter the watermelon the traditional way (sorry, but that's unavoidable). But once that's done, all you have to do is place the cutter over the quarters and press. The windmill-like blade slices the fruit into even-sized cubes, while the long handle acts like a conveyor belt to carry the slices along. There's even a handy measuring guide on the side, so use that if you want cubes of a specific height. From there, you can slice the watermelon row by row, clearing the cubes from the handle. No more slippery knives or toddler-like jagged cuts.
“Best purchase I've made this summer,” raved one reviewer. “I used to hate cutting watermelons, but this has completely changed my perspective. I was able to cut up 3 watermelons in about 10 minutes. Super easy to clean too.”
