A new shopping destination opens today in a renovated building near the proposed Riverline neighborhood downtown.
Farmhouse Market will open at 121 S. Franklin Ave., a 2,500-square-foot space in a building owned and renovated by law partners Rhonda Lockwood and Tressa Zabok Kuhl.
This is the second store for owners Christy and Phil Vander Ziel, who also have a shop in Edgerton, Minnesota, and sell their wares at I-29 Antiques and Stacey's Vintage Art Boutique near Tea.
“We already love it here,” Christy Vander Ziel said, “and I think it turned out great.”
The store offers home décor, furniture, vintage items, jewelry, bath and body care products, accessories and other gift items.
Farmhouse Market also includes products from other makers such as At Home With Stella, Barn Home Vintage, Brick House Creations, Boards n' Boys and Mitzi's Pretties.
The Vander Zeels started their business in their garage in 2015 and expanded into a storefront in 2018. The shop specializes in vintage and new home decor items, handcrafted candles and their own paint products, Farmhouse Market Furniture Paints.
“Basically, our slogan is 'collecting good stuff,'” she said. “Vintage and new.”
The merchandise mix rotates frequently, starting with a wide selection of fall decor items.
Rainy Day Coffee will have a truck out for their grand opening today from 3 to 7 p.m.
Hours of operation are Wednesday through Friday from 10am to 5:30pm, Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
