Apparently there are no hamburgers on Broadway anymore. Nation Kitchen + Bar has officially announced the closing of its original location on the corner of Broadway and East 12th Street in Pendleton.
That comes as no surprise to Pendleton residents, as the burger joint, which opened in 2015, has been closed since last year.
In a May 1 Facebook post, the owners said they wanted to focus more on Nation's other stores in The Banks, Milford and Westwood.
“We have been proud to call Pendleton home, but the time has come to move on,” the post read.

Nation was opened in the summer of 2015 by Andrew Salzbran, Jack Weston, and Aaron Kohlheppe. The restaurant, which serves pre-cooked burgers and sandwiches, was named after Carrie Nation, a temperance activist known for her habit of breaking into and vandalizing bars. Hatchet.
One of the first trendy restaurants to open at or near the intersection of Broadway and East 12th Street, it shares a block with Lucius Q Barbecue, Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey, and Heart & Cru. Kayla Robison, the country's first chef, has since become something of a local celebrity, appearing on national television shows such as “Chopped,” “Guy's Grocery Games,” “The Today Show,” and “Cheap.” He made a name for himself by doing so. I'll eat it. ” Robison left Nation in 2018 and took over the kitchen at the Arnolds store.
The post said, “It's been a wonderful eight years of work,” and “We were able to make a small contribution to the revitalization of a wonderful area.”
