PErrone Pharmacy, located on Benbrook Highway, is one of the oldest remaining family-owned (and complex) pharmacies in Fort Worth. Paula Perrone became his CEO in 2010, and plans were made to open a satellite location at 4737 Camp Bowie on the city's west side. Plans have changed – for the better for home goods enthusiasts. Today, the small storefront is home to Perrone's Cacti & Crescent, a home decor store featuring artisan products, gifts, clothing and bedding.
“We had staffing issues post-COVID-19 and our compounding business was growing rapidly, so we couldn't afford to cannibalize our staff by taking away top talent to expand elsewhere. ” said Paula Perrone. paper city Fort Worth. “We had a lease for the space, but we didn't know what we were going to put there.”
Years ago, while living in Irvington, Virginia (located on the Chesapeake River between Washington, D.C. and Virginia Beach), Perrone opened a similar home goods and gift store called Chesapeake and Crescent. (Thinking back to her college days in New Orleans, which remains one of her favorite cities).
So the new Cactus & Crescent store makes perfect sense, as Mr. Perrone is already well versed in retail and has been a buyer for similar shops. The store has a wide selection of custom items. Perrone works with artisans and vendors in both the Fort Worth area (Cactus) and New Orleans (Crescent). It opened in October.
“The collection combines Texas elegance with New Orleans French inspiration,” she says. “The artisans and lines are locally sourced. I don't shop at markets, so I look for unusual brands. I try to curate pieces that you won't find anywhere else.”
What you'll find at Cactus & Crescent
One of Paula Perrone's current favorites are caftans from the Ortigia Sicilia line by Cacti & Crescent.
“They're made in Lake Como and have an incredible feel – it's like spun gold,” she says.
These include Sarah Gentry's boldly colored cashmere scarves, El Guapo cocktail bitters made in New Orleans, Tessitura Tuscany's Italian linens, and Rand Downunder's New Zealand-made pure mohair throws. At Cacti & Crescent, find one-of-a-kind handmade rugs, stationery, cards, art, ceramics, and more.
